Every day I get up and come to work wondering what I can do to make your store better. Now I know there are some opportunities and I promise I am working on those. However I wonder what you think. Have you ever wondered if guys would shave and comb their hair or if women would wear make up or dress nice if no one cared. Would we? If no one commented on what we looked like would we care what people thought? Let me tell you I care about having the best store we can have and when I stop caring its time to give it up. I want to hear what you think, good or bad however I need you to do one thing—TELL ME. I have provided a way of communicating thru this site so please use it. You want something changed, well take the first step toward doing just that by giving us feeedback.

In the last quarter of 2009 I decided to change suppliers. This is never an easy decision. However I will never quit trying to improve operations. Yes I know sometimes changes are hard on everyone, however the feedback has been very positive. The nationally recognized BEST CHOICE product line as been extremely well accepted. Many of you have commented to me that you like this product line. If you have not tried the BEST CHOICE and ALWAY SAVE products I encourage you to do so. I felt the change of suppliers gave me the ability to lower prices and improve quality of merchandise. It is very important to me to bring you the best price possible on your groceries without sacrificing quality. We plan to be more aggressive in 2010 with 12 or 24 hour sales and special deal purchasing. Times are tough for everyone. While I do not see a swift turnaround in the economy we are in this together and we will get through it. I welcome suggestions and thoughts to better serve you.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the tremendous success of the First Annual Three Forks Marketplace Chili Cook-Off and Chili Supper to benefit New Leash on Life. We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. I cannot tell you how great it made me feel to see our community involved for such a good cause not to mention the down right good ole social aspects of the evening. To the many of you that made the wonderful desserts you were down right awesome. We did not have a good count on how many would be donated, so when we saw the turnout it was fantastic. And the quality and creativity of the desserts was incredible. Today, we can all feel good about our small town. You people are terrific. And the chili, wow what can I say. You were all winners. I must say, I am already looking forward to next year’s event

Wow what a contest. Thanks to everyone for your participation. Whether by submitting a entry, voting or by coffee house discussion this was fun and that was just what we intended. We will take what we have learned from this and probably have another recipe contest for the holidays. But in the mean time drag out and dust off your chili recipe concoction for the next event Three Forks MarkerPlace first annual Chili Cook Off and Dinner. I would like to personally challenge the makers of Butternut Squash soup and Stuffed Chicken Breast to a re-match at the Oct 10 event. Mark your calendars now. Planning is in full swing and monies raised will benefit NEW LEASH ON LIFE who do such a wonderful job for Gods little creatures. See you there. Bill

“Supper and One Hundred Dollars”

You guys prepare dinner every night so why not cook something that goes with a BACK YARD BBQ, take a picture, write the recipe down and send it in. Oh yea,then eat it. Its just that simple. Once again “Our Food gives you gas”

Well after seven weeks and another software update customers will once again be receiving Fuel Rewards. Please have your cashier scan your PREFERRED SHOPPER CARD when making your purchases and you will receive 1% back in free gas as thanks from your local Community Grocer. I apologize for the interruption. This has been a very successful promotion for us and we are happy to provide it once again. Remember the software problems began as we were upgrading to enhance security of your card data. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

“Dinner and a Movie”

Several of you have requested that I check into RED BOX movie rentals. There is such a high traffic requirement for RED BOX so Three Forks MarketPlace does not qualify. However I have negotiated with another company with a very similar operation. We now are happy to offer movies with a DVD NOW KIOSK from MOVIE NIGHT RENTALS. Customers can browse through a complete offering of the latest titles, watch movie trailers pick up dinner and be back home in just a few minutes. The way consumers rent movies has been revolutionized. Its now about “Self-Service Technology. So stop by and pick up DINNER and a MOVIE and give me your thoughts.

3 cent discount update

I know its about time. This week Three Forks installed a newer release of the software which corrected the discount problem at the pumps. While you can once again can scan your Preferred Shopper card (except for pump #4) and receive a roll down of 3 cents per gallon in this new release we lost the 1% fuel reward on your grocery purchases. I beleive this will be a quick fix problem. The more complicated promotions you have the more you have to deal with these types of issues. I feel confident in saying this is as aggravating for me as it is for you. Thank you again for your understanding and patience. I will keep you updated. Bill

3 cent fuel discount

In October 2008 Three Forks MarketPlace updated its software in order to keep PCI compliant. (credit card industry standards for card data security) In November we were notified of a glitch in that updated software that was preventing some, not all debit/credit transactions from being finalized when using the 3 cent discount card. When this happened basically we were not only giving 3 cents per gallon off but giving away the entire purchase. This was discovered in Feb. 09 and the discount card readers were disabled. I apoligize for this inconvenience and hope to have this corrected in the next coulple of weeks. In the interim, you may still receive the 3 cent per gallon discount by paying for your fuel purchase inside. Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Going Digital

Yes, Threeforks Marketplace is going digital!

What does this mean? Well, the biggest change is we are NOT going to mass mail our weely ad specials to every household in the area! Instead of printing thousand and thousands of copies and having the post-office stuff them in every mailbox they find, we are going to start sending them via email to our valued customers that wish to subscribe.

Not only is this a ‘green’ switch – we’ll be saving trees and reducing our gasoline consumption and carbon emmissions – but it also means we’ll be saving money.

We’ll be passing those savings on to our customers – via ‘web’ only specials and email coupons.

In addition, we plan on several ‘customer reward giveaways through-out the year. Stay tuned for more details.
